Yes, Hickman County gained the reputation for moonshining and is still sometimes called “Keg County” by some old-timers, but we are much more refined these days. I work as an economic developer. At the moment, I serve as Executive Director of Hickman County Economic & Community Development Association, Inc. Working in a one person shop, I do community marketing, strategic planning, industrial recruitment, business retention & expansion, retail recruitment, tourism development and manage the non-profit corporation of the public/private partnership.
I am a member of International Economic Development Council, Southern Economic Development Council, Tennessee Economic Development Council and International Council of Shopping Centers.
I have held the designation of Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) from International Economic Development Council (IEDC) since 2008 and I have earned a Master of Business Administration from Tennessee Technological University.
