Just a few hours ago, I received positive results of the final segment in the examination process in becoming a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) with International Economic Development Council (IEDC). In order to be considered for certification, one must have at least four years experience in economic development, complete four core courses and at least two elective courses, and pass a three part examination with written and oral components.
Certification proves an economic developer’s knowledge of and commitment to economic development and to making his or her community a better place to live, work, and do business.
I will be proud to join my distinguished colleagues in wearing the IEDC CEcD pin.
