Most of the buzz on the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA, aka ‘the stimulus package’) is about grants and loans. Another component that can be beneficial to business are the tax benefits made possible by the ARRA. From expanded Work Opportunity Tax Credits to new Net Operating Loss Carryback rules to Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Incentives, there are things on the IRS website that you might should know before that tax filing deadline. Working in a one person shop, I do community marketing, strategic planning, industrial recruitment, business retention & expansion, retail recruitment, tourism development and manage the non-profit corporation of the public/private partnership.
I am a member of International Economic Development Council, Southern Economic Development Council, Tennessee Economic Development Council and International Council of Shopping Centers.
I have held the designation of Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) from International Economic Development Council (IEDC) since 2008 and I have earned a Master of Business Administration from Tennessee Technological University.
